Cap Penalties uses cookies only for things that make the site work, never to advertise to you or follow you across the web. This page lists every cookie we set, what it does, and how long it sticks around.
Functional cookies
Supabase auth session
Set when you sign in. Stores the encrypted session token so we know it's you on every page request and you don't have to sign in again on each navigation.
- Names:
sb-<project>-auth-tokenand related - Purpose: keep you signed in
- Lifetime: 1 hour for the access token, 30 days for the refresh token. Cleared on sign-out.
- Set by: Supabase, on our behalf
Admin token
Only set if you sign in to the admin area (which is just the site operator). Not relevant to regular visitors.
- Name:
cp_admin - Purpose: authorize admin routes
- Lifetime: 30 days
Cookie notice dismissal
Set when you dismiss the cookie banner at the bottom of the page, so it does not re-appear on every visit. We use localStorage rather than a server cookie for this so the dismissal stays on your device.
- Storage: browser
localStoragekeycp.cookieNoticeDismissed - Purpose: remember you have seen the notice
- Lifetime: until you clear browser storage
What we do NOT use
- No advertising cookies
- No third-party tracking pixels (no Meta pixel, no Google Ads, no LinkedIn Insight, etc.)
- No cross-site profiling cookies
- No data sharing with ad networks
Analytics
If and when we add analytics, we will use a privacy-respecting service that counts aggregate page views without identifying individual visitors or building a cross-site profile. This page will be updated when that happens.
Managing cookies
You can clear cookies and localStorage at any time through your browser settings. Clearing the Supabase session cookies will sign you out. Clearing the cookie-notice dismissal will make the banner re-appear.
You can also block third-party cookies entirely in your browser. Since we do not set third-party cookies, this will not affect the Cap Penalties experience.
